SpaceX Starship suffers engine failure on 14th uncrewed test flight

SpaceX’s next-generation spacecraft Starship suffered an engine failure during its 14th uncrewed test flight, a development that may affect the timetable for NASA’s crewed lunar mission. According to ChainCatcher, Starship is one of the two spacecraft selected through NASA’s bidding process and is scheduled to carry out a crewed Moon mission in 2028. The test launch, conducted in Texas, still met multiple mission objectives before the propulsion system issue forced an early end to the flight. The update points to a potential delay risk for NASA’s planned lunar schedule tied to Starship.
